NY Penn was pandemonium yesterday evening, Friday, Jan. 24. Despite the system wide delays, there was no one keeping people from entering the station adding a crush of more and more people until you couldn't move. It was dangerous, in my mind, and either Amtrak, NJ Transit Police or NY City Police should have stopped people on the sidewalks despite the light snow and cold. I had intended to get the 7:22 P.M. MidTown Direct and ended up getting home at 10:05 P.M. There was a similar delay the Friday evening before. So, two weekends in a row that didn't get off to a good start.
